These are the Assorted Ravings of Mark William Darbyshire (or markdarb), a multi-faceted geek studying at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand.

The aforementioned geek is avidly interested in many topics, all of which will be blogged about here sooner or later. Such topics include language, technology, free and open source software, reading, writing, science, Bible prophecy, piano, song-writing, cooking, skits, and more.

Mark is a Spirit-filled and baptised Christian and attends The Revival Fellowship.

Mark was born to kiwi parents in York, England in 1989. In England he has lived in Haxby, York and Knaresborough. In 1999 his family moved back to New Zealand where Mark has lived in Mount Maunganui, Papamoa, Te Puke, Rotorua and Christchurch. Since moving to New Zealand, Mark hasn’t been any further abroad than Fiji, and he very much wants to a pay a long-due visit to the other hemisphere so that he can tour Europe and the UK, and in particular meet the Church friends he keeps in touch with online and visit the places from his childhood that he remembers so fondly.
